Professional tools.
Zero compromises.
DocDox is a suite of document and image utilities built on a single principle: your files belong to you, and they should never need to leave your device.
“Your files never leave your browser. That’s not a feature — it’s the whole point.”
Every tool on DocDox runs client-side using WebAssembly, JavaScript, and modern browser APIs. When you compress a PDF, merge documents, or remove a background from a photo, the processing happens in your browser tab — not on a cloud server somewhere.
This means we structurally cannot see your files, log your documents, or use your content for training data. It’s not a privacy policy you have to trust — it’s an architectural guarantee.
Built on a Simple Principle
The web has enough tools that require you to create an account, accept broad data-sharing terms, and hope a subscription price doesn’t change. DocDox exists because everyday document tasks — merging a PDF, compressing a photo, converting a file — don’t need a cloud server. Modern browsers are powerful enough to do this work locally.
We believe professional-quality tools should be accessible to everyone without a paywall, and that accessibility should not come at the cost of your privacy. Those two things are not in conflict — they just require building the software differently.
On advertising: DocDox is funded by display advertising, not by selling your data or requiring subscriptions. The ads you see are served by Google AdSense based on page context, not on your file content — because we never see your file content.
How It Works — Technically
PDF processing, image compression, and OCR run as compiled WASM modules — the same performance as native apps, inside your browser.
File operations make no outbound network calls. Your data moves only within your browser's memory — from input to output.
Built on open formats (PDF, DOCX, PNG, WebP) and open-source libraries. No proprietary formats, no vendor lock-in.
